Aisha Francis: The Blueprint of Heels Dance
Aisha Francis is a trailblazer in the world of dance, known as the original heels dance teacher and a pioneer in celebrating powerful femininity through expressive movement. With a passion for empowering dancers and women alike, Aisha has cultivated a unique approach that captures the essence of sensuality and confidence.
Raised in California after being born in New York, Aisha grew up in a vibrant household of dance, inspired by her mother, Vicki Bails, a professional dancer and Broadway star. At 19, she took a leap of faith to pursue her dreams in Hollywood, where she quickly landed a gig as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers. During her time as a Laker Girl, she performed alongside Bette Midler and signed with a prestigious dance agency, booking her first film role just days later.
In 2003, Aisha seized a groundbreaking opportunity by participating in a nationwide audition to work with Beyoncé Knowles. Her charisma and talent earned her one of only four coveted spots, leading to over four years of touring as Beyoncé’s right-hand dancer, movement coach, dance captain, and assistant choreographer. Aisha's choreography and co-creation of the iconic "Uh-oh" Dance in the “Crazy in Love” music video were pivotal in launching Beyoncé's solo career and ushering in a new sensual dance movement that embraced women of all shapes and sizes.
Aisha’s signature style—a bold fusion of strength and sensuality—has become synonymous with her name. Through her workshops at Aisha Francis Studios, she empowers women to dance with confidence in heels, helping them embrace their femininity and self-expression.
Aisha's impressive resume features collaborations with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Janet Jackson, Rihanna, and Teyana Taylor. Her choreography has graced hit television shows like Dance Moms, So You Think You Can Dance, and Dancing with the Stars, as well as major films such as Burlesque and Ghostbusters.
In addition to her work with Beyoncé, Aisha has performed at prestigious events, including the Kennedy Center Honor Awards tribute to Tina Turner, and has shared the stage with legends like Rihanna, Prince, and Jay-Z.
